OT: Help Fixing Purevideo (I broke it)
I've messed up my Nvidia Purevideo Install and I can't figure out what I've done or better yet how to fix it.
SD video will play just fine in Sage WMP & MPC. When I look at the filters MPC is using for SD, it is using: the MPEG-1 Audio Decoder & MPEG-2 Video Decoder. In addition, when I load the file in WMP it does say error downloading codec then plays the video fine. HD video will play extremely choppy in Sage & MPC (no Nvida icon in the toolbar like their used to be), and not at all in WMP. In MPC the filters are Nvidia Audio Decoder & MPEG-2 Video Decoder. Anyone have any clue how to fix this? This sounds dumb, but I think I may have unregistered and intermediate codec for the video. Something that needs to be present for Nvidia Purevideo Video codec to work. Is there anyone who knows what the string of codecs needed to play HD mpegs? Any other way to figure out what I"ve done? I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling Purevideo & the Forceware drivers for my video card, as well as reinstalling sage (without an uninstall first). Hopefully someone can help..... this is 100% my fault & not a bug & not a sage issue, but I'm fully stumped. Thanx |

Why don't you just use your System Restore and go back to a day or two before you started having issues.

Unfortunately, I may have done this a couple months ago. I'm not 100% sure. I made some of these changes a while ago. I tried going back a week with system restore but that didn't fix it.
I've made a number of other changes over the past few months (totally unrelated to this) that I don't want to system restore back that many months. Any ideas on how to fix this or at least diagnose better what is missing/changed/set incorrectly? Thanx again. |

Maybe nvidia tech support can be more help. There could be any number of conflicts in windows xp or the registry.

I don't know what to do with Graphedit to determine whats wrong
Anyway, I've gotten alot further. I've uninstalled & reinstalled Sage & Purevideo & manually regsvr32 all the Sage ax files. NOW Sage & WMP will play using the Purevideo decoders: But MPC doesn't seem to play the same video with purevideo. In addition, the videos all are choppy as heck in Sage & MPC. They look fine in WMP. I was also noticing that SageTV.exe is using ~160mb and SageTVService.exe is using ~120mb while playing these HD videos. Problem? FYI Java verision 1.5.0_05-b05 This all worked before, but before I did what I'm not sure. |

sorry, i wasn't aware of their poor support.
Try this: In your system control panel you'll find an option for audio codes. i forget under which icon. Listed there are codecs such as ffdshow, divx, mp3, etc. Is there anything on that list that appears odd? I am also suspicious that your direct x is screwed up. did u run a dxdiag?
