Odd overlay behavior

After upgrading to v6, I have experienced an odd behavior. With VMR9 enabled as the video renderer, playback works flawlessly, except on imported .mov files and any attempts to view Google video (audio plays back, but no video - transparency begins to switch, then freezes, but audio continues). If I switch to Overlay as the renderer, all files play back fine (including mov and google), but the OSD is incorrectly sized for the screen (oversided, off screen). I've tried switching different video decoders and all other video settings, including restarting SageTV with every change, and nothing seems to remedy this problem. Any suggestions?

Nope, got the lastest version of directx, video drivers, everything's all up to date. Would an on-board video card be at fault? It's a GeForce4 MX GPU, don't think that makes any difference.

I found this occurs when you use SageTVplayer to play mpeg4 etc... in wmr9 mode. The fix I used was to disable the player. By making sure the property below is set to false.

mplayer/use_for_all_mpeg4_playback=false

Hmmm... Still no change! Something tells me it might be the on-board video at fault. I might have to revert to version 5... I like the new look & features, but I was trying to keep to a low budget HTPC box, and v5 worked fine for me. v6 seems to be doing more processing after watching any video, which also takes away from the overall smoothness I enjoyed with 5.

Found this old page from a search, I'm having the exact same problem described by the OP, google video produces black screen in VMR9. It works in Overlay mode but the menus get blown up. Setting the Aspect Ratio vertical stretch to 98% fixes that. But I really want to use VMR9 and not overlay. I'm curious to know whether there was a fix for this or not.

Setting "mplayer/use_for_all_mpeg4_playback=false" does nothing. Also enabling Overlay Color Key has no effect. I'm guessing the problem has something to do with the TV output. For me, I'm using the Svideo-out of the video card to the TV. This is the only output as there are no monitors attached to the PC client, just the TV by itself. I looked into the nVidia driver control panels but haven't found anything useful in there.

Any suggestions?
