Solution to Problem: Streamzap Remote Volume Does Not Work in Sage 4

I just installed the latest version of the Streamzap Remote drivers (v2.9.6), and the 'volume up' and 'volume down' buttons stopped working in SageTV (version 4). Sage displayed its volume bar, which registered the volume changes, but the volume did not change. Outside of Sage, the volume buttons continued to work in every other application, including the system's audio mixer. Oddly enough, the 'mute' button still worked in Sage.

Here's what resolved the issue:

1. Ensure that SageTV is not running.

2. Go to the following directory: C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV

3. Open the following file using Notepad: Sage.properties

4. Find the line that reads: media_player_uses_system_volume=true

5. On that line, change "true" to "false"

6. Save the file and close it

7. Start SageTV

You can also try my new utility for the Streamzap (this is a first release so it may have some bugs), you'll be able to use its own volume OSD that will work among all applications (changing the master volume).

Regards,
Stéphane.
