Question Purchasing SageTV

I'm looking to purchase SageTV, and I see it at Sage TV for 79, and I see it at The Media Center Store for 69. Would I be getting an actual copy and a working key, if I purchased it from the MCE store???

Also I have multiple Operating Systems on my computer. I have two Linux OS's and I have Three Windows OS's. When I get a registration key, will that key work to activate SageTV on Linux as well as Windows???

You get the same thing purchasing from pcalchemy that you get when purchasing it directly from Sage. It's just cheaper.

No, they are not interchangeable.

By MCE store, I assume you mean PC Alchemy? If so, yes it is a fully legit version. They are a dealer of Sage software.

As for the Linux/Windows question, no. The software key is Windows only. You'd need to buy a seperate copy of Sage for Linux (which is OEM only, meaning no official support) to use it on Linux.

Thanks for all the help. and yeah I did mean PC Alchemy.

I don't use linux all that much anyways, so the Windows copy will be good for me. Again thanks for all the help. I wanted to make sure I would be purchasing a legit copy.

FYI, PCAlchemy gave great service. I purchased several SageTV-related products fom them, and have zero complaints. Highly recommended.

Okay I purchased SageTV from PCAlchemy, now I just have to wait till they send me the product key.

Perhaps I can finally start getting use out of the secondary 500gb SATA hard drive, I purchased just for recording shows. I think that's enough space

Again thanks for all the help, I'll let you guys know when I get my product key, and actually get SageTV working.

I wouldn't count on it.

I started out with a 200 gig and then picked up another. I still need more space, but don't want to spend the money right now. Seems like I just keep finding more shows that interest me.
