Wireless MVP and the Netgear WGT624 v3 router
I have seen other threads on these forums indicating a potential incompatibility between the Netgear WGT624 v3 router and the Hauppauge MVP. Support at hauppauge insists there is no problem, however, I have not been able to connect even after changing every possible setting on my router. Even with the network fully open, no WEP, etc,
every time I try to connect I get a message that says "Media MVP is successfully connected to this wireless access point but is unable to obtain an IP address." Has anyone out there been able to successfully connect to this router wirelessly (I can obtain an IP address via a wired connection)? If so, what are your router's settings? |

It's an issue with the router, not the MVP. I had the same problem which I fixed by upgrading the router firmware. V2.0.16_1.0.1NA worked for me.
As soon as I upgraded the firmware and rebooted the router and the MVP it worked like a charm. |

Did you disable your Windows Firewall yet?

Upgrading the firmware did the trick. I hadn't realized that a new version of that had been released.
Thank you SO much! I've been struggling with this for quite awhile now! BTW, if you upgrade to the sage 6 beta, you don't need to disable windows firewall, which is nice. |

Netgear and D-link are famous for switching firmware providers in Asia and regressing in bugs. Linksys too, of late, since they went to VXworks.
