Sluggish UI after moving to a media server!

After what I can only describe as brain surgery I've moved all my recordings and extra stuff to a "mediaserver. Consolidated both of my raid cards and drives into one box. Nice to have it like this... except I've inherited a little sluggish UI now.

Entering any menu I get the sage icon for a few seconds. Generally < 10 seconds. This is in the guide, My TV, Music, Settings, and anything else. I moved music locally back to the main box just to see if that would help, but I still get the same delay. Is this just a side affect of things being on a server?

Anyone one seen the same behaviour?

Also should add that I'm not seeing any ill affects of the move... Recordings/HD/and other content play great from the server. HD content even plays better that is did locally.

I was going to add an update just in case someone sees this again! The problem I'm seeing with the spinning sage icon on every menu press apparently comes from the Disk Usage Bar that I enabled in MC. I loaded a client to test for the sluggish behaviour, and it didn't have the same problem. So I started adding features back to mirror my main system, and the was the disk usage that started the behaviour. Disabled it on my main system and no more delay between menu items. I do have quite a bit of disc space I'm guessing it just takes it that sec or two to calcuate and render!

I experienced something similar when I used a dedicated file server box running XP. After I changed the box over to NASLite last weekend the UI response in the server and clients improved by quite a bit. Part of the change also involved changing the Sage recording drive from a PATA to a SATA connected to an Adaptec RAID card.

Update on this. The UI is still nice and snappy but now I'm experiencing skipped frames / occasional slowdowns using NASLite. The saga continues...

I was experience skipped frames as well earlier. I was recording from the WinXP server directly on to a Linux raid box running Samba. I popped a 250 GB drive into the Sage Server box and record to that instead. The skipping stopped immediately.
