Hi
Can SageTv 5.x play imported mp4 files? |

I don't think it can natively. That was one of the feature improvements for V6.

Videowise, the supported features seem to work well.
Audiowise I found support of AAC in sage6 to be sluggish and outright buggy. Stuck with mp3 since it works so nicely with the extenders as well.

Well - actually some did get mp4 working in Sage 5 natively but it was too much headache for me. I simply used the GermSage plugin with Sage 5 to play mp4 files and it worked great. Now with Sage 6 it's not neccesary. I still encode my mp4 files using StaxRip which I think does a great job. I can actually encode at around 250-300mb hour with no noticeable loss of quality
