I'm still having problems with the autocompress only working some of the time. I have the transcoding and scheduling set up on a Sage client and I put the client software to sleep at night. Is it possible that with the client asleep it won't pick up that it should compress?

I'm hoping to beat the HD Extender

But seriously, all of my computer stuff except for my Macbook is on a truck wandering across America. So while I can get a little work done, its not a very fun setup to develop on so i'm not doing a lot right now.

That shouldn't be an issue, are you sure its missing 100% of the shows when its asleep or is it catching some of them and missing others?

I think it's missing some and doing others. I didn't want to say that because it made no sense to me and I thought I had to be wrong.

One more thing about the new version. Is there any chance it will run with less resources?

I've noticed something like this on my setup, but was never able to figure out why it happeneds. Its very annoying and i'd like to get to the bottom of it at some point.

Boy am I glad to hear that. I was beginning to think I was losing it.

I suppose it's still possible I'm going crazy, but at least this isn't evidence.

Since it looks like it's going to be a little while before the new version is out, I was wondering if someone could give me some suggestions on getting a newer version of mencoder to work with this plugin. When I've tried downloading newer versions of mencoder, the plugin won't work with them.

Someone suggested that I needed to update the DLLs in the plugin to work with the newer versions of mencoder, but I cannot find new versions of these DLLs anywhere.

Thanks for your help

Check out, http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php, and grab the newest rtm version. It should do the trick and doesn't depend on any .dll's

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I picked up a copy of Vista last week and i'll give it a shot once I get my computer.

If I had to guess, the encoding (ffmpeg, mencoder) would probably work but the perl executables might not.

I'm trying to customize the profiles so that the audio can be decoded by AC3Filter. I assume the easiest output would be mp2. Can I use the audio option -oac lavc?

OK, are there any options to get the audio to be mpeg2? I'd use the built-in conversions, but I reall want the commercials removed. Maybe that is what I should use until your new version comes out.

I think that this will work for you...

Code:
Audio Options =-oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=224

Rest assured that after 6 months of development, nobody wants this plug-in finished more than I do

My stuff is finally in Seattle, but apparently i'm not allowed to get to it until I move out of my temporary housing. Fortunatly, I found a place, signed a lease, and I should be getting all of my stuff delivered on Aug 1st.

After that I'm doing fresh installs on all of my machines, demoting my old Sage Server to dev/game machine, finishing this plug-in, and, as a reward, building myself a brand new, quad-core, encoding beast of a Sage Server to take advantage of it

Is there a reason this wouldn't work with 1-pass h.264? When I try it I end up not being able to get a picture.

OK, the problem is with all 1-pass conversions. Maybe it is the decoders I'm using (PDVD7).

Can you use the PDVD decoders to play the x264 AVI files created by this plugin? I spent a lot of time playing around with graphedit and the PDVD decoder wouldn't play ball.
