Once a job has started what is the easiest way to stop it? One of the log files is complaining that temp.mpg already exists.

No, it actually appears that DirMon2 stops doing anything. I can hit the refresh button, and nothing will be showing in the top "Active Jobs" list or in the bottom "Queued Jobs" list.

I was able to get it to work by basically disabling the ShowAnalyzer job (making it require 1000 resources out of the available 100), and only having the perl2dvd job requiring 100 resources. I think this accomplished the same thing as deleting the ShowAnalyzer task. But if both of them are requiring 100 resources, neither one gets queued up at all.

That should be fixed in 2.0c, try downloading the latest version.

Try boosting the priority of the perl2dvd job by 10. Since perl2dvd (not dirmon) waits until the .edl file exits it should let the SA jobs filter to the top.

My first thought was "DirMon has priorities?" You can tell how far down the screen I look!
Just changed the setting. I'll let you know what I see.

Hi, I downloaded v2.0c and I'm getting stuck too. I have perl2dvd configured to cut commercials. It processes the first video of the bunch into a temp.mpg, then it moves on to the second video and waits for input (in a window I can't see). The log file for the second video shows:
Code:
File '\\sagetv\sagevideos\Charade(5).dvdList.0.WorkFolder\temp.mpg' already exists. Overwrite ? [y/N]

Hmm, looks like this may not be as fixed as I thought. I'm away from my dev machine right now, but I'll have a fix out tomorrow evening, along with a few other misc. bug fixes.

Thanks,

You can either disable all of my plug-in's in the SageMC Options->Extras section or revert back to the original SageMC.xml file.

New animation

I put together a new DVD menu thumbnail animation over the weekend. It's basically the same thing as before, except instead of a few random images its a sequence of images and theres no dissolve effect between them which gives it a flip-book type feel. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped because SageTVTranscoder rounds to the nearest .5 second when taking screenshots so the max fps is 2

Oh well, I've got other ideas I can try.

I should have a bug fix release out before the end of the week. Sorry this one took so long, but I've been busy with other stuff lately.

The first video, the sequence animation, is just taking a bunch of screen shots, combining those screen shots with the background image, generating each frame of the video as a png, and then encoding those png's into an mpg.

The second one is literally overlaying the actual video over a static image with Avisynth and encoding it into an mpg using QuEnc. It should not only be faster but the overall quality of the final menu might be a little better also.

This really opens up a lot of possibilities, but to implement it right, I'll have to basically re-write my entire menu generation script. Oh well, it was due for a clean up anyway

First off, great job with this, its just about exactly what I've been looking for (except I'd like to be able to edit the edl file in sage manualy, but thats for another day).

The avi that is output has no sound, the video is fine!! I've tried several of the profiles.

I get the following in the qdvd log:

Transcoding Video (Pass #1): "E:\Discover Magazine - Lost in Time.vidLibList.2.WorkFolder\DiscoverMagazine-LostinTime-284267-0.2_1-Pass_Divx.2clean.mpg" -edl "E:\DiscoverMagazine-LostinTime-284267-0.edl" -vf scale -zoom -xy 512 -oac mp3lame -lameopts vbr=3 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:mbd=2:turbo:vbitrate=988 -o "E:\Discover Magazine - Lost in Time.vidLibList.2.WorkFolder\DiscoverMagazine-LostinTime-284267-0.2_1-Pass_Divx.avi"
Running video batch file with priority belownormal: "E:\Discover Magazine - Lost in Time.vidLibList.2.WorkFolder\DiscoverMagazine-LostinTime-284267-0.2_1-Pass_Divx.bat"
<** Done

I dont see anywhere that the sound file is muxed in with the video. Also I'd really much prefer AC3 audio, so I tried changing the Audio Options line in the .profiles file to =-oac copy

Yes my source file definantly has AC3 audio.

Any idea as to whats going on??

Also where can i make change so the source file isnt deleted? So far I've been encoding junk clips I recored, but its annoying having to do that each time.

EDIT: I have tried 2-pass encodes as well.

I just recently got an HDhomerun (best thing since sliced bread) and i've been playing around with HDTV again and unfortunately it looks like my script just doesn't work for compressing HDTV and I can't figure out why (HDTV->DVD works great though ). This next version won't fix it, but its on top of my todo list after that.
