Question does Java have it together yet?

I haven't seen anything posted on the highest stable java release lately. I just imported the email checker and it says I need 1.5 or newer. Due to all the issues w/ 1.5 I've stayed w/ the release that ships w/ STV v5. Is it safe to "upgrade" java yet?

The version 1.6 has fewer bugs than the 1.5. It seems to be one of their strongest releases, they have very little bugs open.

Erik.

I updated to the newest version last week and it complete messed up my system. Video stuttering and menu movement were horrible. Switched back to 1.4.6 (i believe) and everything is fine.
