nVidia audio decoder not working

I have a new client machine setup. I am using purevideo bronze .223. This is with an LCD tv using the analog speakers that are inside the tv. I get no sound from HD or SD recordings when the nVidia audio decoder is selected in SageTv. However if I run windows media player I get sound, and it says that it is using nVidia audio decoder. SageTv seems to want to use the AC3 decoder. Given the low quality of the speakers I am using that woud probably be ok, but for some reason the volume level is low using any of the audio filters that actually work (have sound) in SageTv. I have adjusted the windows sound level to max and also the realtek sound card software to max, and I still can't get the volume level up to where it sould be with AC3. Any ideas how to get the sound levels up or how to get SageTv to work with nVidia audo decoder?

The nVidia audio decoder doesn't support decoding (at least of AC3) outside WMP/MCE.

If you're using AC3Filter try disabling/unchecking the "Normalize Matrix" option. You'll have to use something like graphedit or Radlight Filter Manager to access the AC3Filter settings.

Thanks Stranger that seems to have picked up the volume level on HD material!

Follow up question? Of the MPEG2 Audio Decoder Filters available in my setup:

Default
AC3 Filter
MPEG Audio Decoder
nVidia Audio Decoder
SageTV MPEG Audio Decoder

The one I should be using is "AC3 Filter" correct?

Probably, I think that's the only one that can deal with AC3 audio.

nVidia can, but only S/PDIF passthrough.
