The current implementation of closed caption support in Sage depends on the underlying encoding hardware/software to insert the CC data into the mpeg file. As far as I know, only the Hauppauge 250 and 350 cards do this. Thus it is likely next to impossible for closed captioning support to work with the ATI Theater 550 unless you can convince ATI to modify their drivers to insert the necessary CC data into the mpeg stream that they create.
