Did I mention I hate Comcast sometimes?
 Craptastic is at it again. We lost TCM and channel 74 this weekend. I just "love" the way they make changes to the line up and the only way I find out about it is through a recording conflict icon on a scheduled movie. I guess I should rescan my digitals and see if anything changed there too.

Cablevision NJ (Raritan) Channels picked up by Vizio VX32L
Below are the channels my new Vizio VX32L was able to identify/program. Any Channel ID without a channel # after it means the Vizio tuners did not pick it up (HD channels are towards the bottom of the list). You'll also notice at the very end of the list several channels which the tuners programmed duplicate channels.
I must say I am very disappointed in the poor tuner capabilities (cannot detect 36 analog channels as well as 12 HD channels). In addition, most of the channels do not receive the programming information. In contacting the manufacturer, they blamed the issues on the cable provider (big surprise). While I don't know anything about this technology, it doesn't make sense to me that I had no problem receiving all the analog channels listed through my cable box, but can't get them through the Vizio internal tuners (but it is Cablevisions fault?). I will likely return this TV unless Vizio can come up with a solution for me. If anyone out their can shed some light on this issue (or let me know if this is a common problem for all HDTV manufacturers), I welcome your input. hjuliea- you're only ever going to be able to tune a channel (on auto tune) that is open for you to receive, even some analog channels are scrambled and require a cable box.
as for your HD channels you're lucky you can get as many as you do. most people only get the locals.

They're probably no longer broadcast in clear QAM. I've noticed a lot of channels being pulled from clear QAM and only leaving the locals. Be prepared for it. It was bound ot happen sooner or later.

I remember when this happened with the B.U.D. We used to get direct-from-the-field news feeds in the clear before they realized it shouldn't be getting out. Amazing how some reporters acted when they thought the general public wasn't watching.

The following are the channels my Sharp LC-32D43U can pick up on Time Warner Digital cable unencrypted in El Paso, TX as of Feb 22, 2008. At my house we pay for digital cable as well as the HD package so we have several HD digital boxes in the house, but the room in which this TV is in has the cable connected directly to the TV. Your results may vary but I thought others might find this list useful.

Time Warner Orange County California QAM Channel Lineup
See attached. The file is in Microsoft Word format, legal-size. If you do not have Word you can download the free viewer by going to http://microsoft.com. In the Microsoft web site's search box type Word Viewer. Take the first result (Word Viewer 2003).
Took many hours to map these out. Called Time Warner but they did not have a list. Last edited by ggcisco; 03-05-2008 at 08:50 PM.

For zip 77005, ESPN is now on channel 74 prog 102 at 528x480i.
Here's a quick xls table of what I have (keep in mind 60 channel limit on HDHR BDA, what you enable can change the remap column).
