You can just try it, but IIRC the remote power button makes it invisible to Sage, so that should be enough.

Off by remote will free up the license. I've done it many times.

you really have to kill the power to the MVP for it to update properly.

as a side note with the release version of sage 6.0 and using the released java 6.0 the MVP is now VERY snappy with really no noticable lag on button pushes. it really provides a seamless sage experience now save the whole HD thing...

still i live in hope that an HD offering will soon be released - please give me hope!

Don't forget, CES is around the corner. Should be interesting given the huge push HD TV has had this past year.

I check back here daily in hopes of seeing an HD Extender. I'm hoping too.
But in the meantime, I think I'll upgrade my Sage to Version 6 over the holidays. Family likely won't mind the short downtime now since there's so little new TV on now.

And snappier MVPs (even if only SD) is still a good thing.
