Wireless?

Would this work communicating from server to server with 802.11b work just the same as running Cat 5? As in would the bandwidth be sufficient for MPEG 2?

A lot of people have had success with g or a but b (11 MB right?) is too slow. If possibel you should go Cat 5 then g or a if necessary.

Correct, b is 11mb. I was just looking at how I am going to built the client and was thinking maybe I could run wireless between them to have one less cable in the back. Mostly just to look cooler I guess to say it is wireless.

802.11B is not normally fast enough for the best MPEG recording settings. remember, it is 11mbit MAX throghput.. Average ACTUAL throughput is 3-5mbit which is too slow for the best quality recordings.

You can certainly get it to work with lower bitrates though, with only one client.

If you want to record at 'best' quality, or have multiple clients then you will need 802.11G (802.11B won't be fast enough).
