Vista Areo interface incompatibily with SageTV
Anyone elso notice that once you view Live TV in SageTV (V6.0.19) you lose the Areo interface? Only way to get it back is to completely exit the application. I've got a number of utilities that are incompatible with Areo (like Harmony remote software running in the taskbar...) but SageTV is the biggest problem so far because I always need it running.

It's interesting that just opening the Sage window doesn't cause a problem. The problem shows up as soon as I hit "Watch Live TV" and doesn't go away until Sage is completely closed down. Argg. Just discovered Zoomplayer (V.5 beta) also shuts down Areo as soon as it loads a video... |

did you notice the clock on sage is five hours ahead then the current time ? ( yes the correct time is set in windows & time zone)
I just finished installing OEM Ultimate and I noticed a few FSE issues, but that could be the beta 100.54 Nvidia drivers..

Just guessing, based on things I've read: try using VMR9 as the video renderer if you aren't already using it.
And, for the time, people above mentioned fixing that with the latest version of java. - Andy

And going to Java.com to get the only release for Vista solved the offset time issue. The only problem with this is,my MVP is rather messed up (a bit ) when hitting stop after watching something, it takes 30 seconds to bring back the sage menu.

Would any Admins care to explain my missing posts ? in this thread ?
Also if any remembers my missing posts, the bastard child was found and my MVP issues have been resolved. By disabling the TCP Window Scaling option. In Vista is turned on by default.

I'm using the stock stv, but someone has removed about 3 of my post made over the weekend in this thread.
Once I moved upto java 1.6 (the only version supported by Sun Micro for Vista. The delay and time issues were fixed. I never had these issues in XP just for the record. thanks

Buy Vista man! You won't want to go back to XP, ever. And Vista is actually really good with RAM. I am only running 1 gig and I ran the same 1 gig with XP and the only diffrence I see is that Vista runs faster then XP did. Vista is smart enough to disable certain parts of the OS if you are doing certain things like running soemthing in full screen. Such as Aero will disable when you go into full screen mode on lets say a game. A few weeks ago I just was reading something about comparing the RAM usage to XP and XP did worse. Granted Vista uses up more RAM but it's not bad at all.
My machine at home runs Vista, I use the built in media center software, at times I may be playing a game on one of my screens, the other screen (yes, dual screens) has media center running and I also may have 2 or 3 Xbox 360's connected that are also streaming media center. All this with 1 gig of RAM and I do not notice a diffence at all. When I ran XP I only had problems while Vista just is able to handle things better. |
