recording scheduled programs when sagetv is closed?

hello,
i was wondering if sagetv will record your scheduled recordings even if sagetv is closed using windows media center ? any help would be appreciated. thank you.

If you haven't yet installed SageTV, there is a link in my sig lines for a manual you can download. Chapter 2 has a Quick Start Guide that explains some things for new users, including "How the State of SageTV affects Creating TV Recordings" at the start of that section.

In short: you have to have SageTV running, or at least the service portion, for SageTV to be able to record. If it isn't running at all, there is no way it can use any capture device. It also cannot use a tuner if some other application is using that tuner.
