Installed NVidia Decoders and now no audio

This is so fustrating. I payed the money for the Nvidia decoders because everyone on the board seems to thingkthere the best. I installed them on my Sage PC and now I don't have any audio when playing ripped DVD from my hard drive. Why is it that I have to spend my time screwing with the softwae than using it. Is this MS fault or the software's? Anyway can someone tell me how to fix this problem. I would like my sound back. BTW the sound for watching TV and Music is fine. Thanks all.

Unless you bought the Platinum version the nVidia audio decoder will only work with spdif out on products other than Windows Media player or MCE. Analog out will not work. This info is on their website.

Yup, the info is there although somehwhat burried and hard to decipher for the general user. I had the same problem. Switch to AC3 filter and all your woes will be taken care of.

I did switch

I did switch to AC3 filter and nothing happened. Is there something I am doing wrong or is Sage not picking up the change.

Make sure AC3 filter is setup to decode the DVD audio. Open it's configuration screen.

I do I open the filter configureation screen? Why is it that WMP and my other DVD players always work when ever I make changes but Sage never seems to follow along. just a thought?

If installed properly there should be an AC3 filter in you start/programs.
Not sure about your other question as Sage will use whatever decoder I tell it without issue.

I am not sure if it is installed properly. I never installed the filter, it is just listed in the SAGE detailed setup pages. Maybe this is my problem.

So did it work? I upgraded my NVidia decoder a couple weeks ago from the PCAlchemy website and I just tried playing the DVD and no sound. Did installing the AC3 filter work? Thanks

No, and I gave up trying. I am sick this program that it never seems to work the same way twice. I bought the Sonic decoders and they work great. Matter of fact the audio decoder does 5.1 Doby via the the audio out jack and you get a MP3 encoder/decoder also. Quality is fine. Hope this helps.

I am sorry AC3 filter didn't work for you. But I am glad to hear you got a fix. I have given up on the NVidia decoders.
