Sage Broken
I tried to launch sage tonight and it froze at service initializing.
I decided to just kill it and reinstall since something was clearly buggered. I backed up my wiz.bin abd sage.properties files etc. reinstalled and tried it before dropping in the old files. same issue. It wont load at all with the service running. It just hangs on the splash screen. Please help.... here is a copy of my last logs sagetvclient: Mon 12/11 1:37:05.094 SageTV received connection from:Socket[addr=/127.0.0.1,port=42024,localport=1418] Mon 12/11 1:37:05.095 Connection lost from: Socket[addr=/127.0.0.1,port=42024,localport=1418] by:java.io.IOException: ERROR NETWORKING SYSTEM:java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting Blowfish/CFB8/NoPadding Mon 12/11 1:37:05.095 Cleaning up c/s connection Mon 12/11 1:37:05.095 Error establishing server connection of:java.io.IOException: ERROR NETWORKING SYSTEM:java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting Blowfish/CFB8/NoPadding java.io.IOException: ERROR NETWORKING SYSTEM:java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting Blowfish/CFB8/NoPadding Mon 12/11 1:37:05.095 at sage.t.aB(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sage.t.<init>(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sage.bp.do(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sage.bp.for(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sage.SageTV.<init>(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.096 at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.097 at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.097 at sage.Sage.void(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.097 at sage.Sage.b(Unknown Source) Mon 12/11 1:37:05.097 NetworkClient fullCleanup null and sagetv: Mon 12/11 1:36:12.399 Connection lost from: Socket[addr=/127.0.0.1,port=1397,localport=42024] by:java.io.IOException: ERROR NETWORKING SYSTEM:java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting Blowfish/CFB8/NoPadding Mon 12/11 1:36:12.399 Cleaning up c/s connection Mon 12/11 1:36:12.399 Error w/SageTV client connection:java.io.IOException: ERROR NETWORKING SYSTEM:java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Cannot find any provider supporting Blowfish/CFB8/NoPadding Last edited by Sarlac; 12-11-2006 at 01:38 AM. |

You might try starting with a clean wiz.bin(none at all, remove it from your sage installation folder). If that works, I hope you have some recent backups...

yeah, i saw the logs after I responded... not really sure. If your trying a completly clean install and its still not working, thats pretty strange. Perhaps unistalling sage, delete the whole sage folder, uninstall java, then re-install sage. Worth a shot anyway, just make a backup of everything in your sage installation folder before uninstalling and deleting.

ok so i just removed j2se 1.4 and 5.0
rebooted. reinstalled 5.0 rebooted. ran sage and after a few seconds of hanging it finally came up. that was strange. I guess it was java all along. Thanks for the help dude. problem solved -S |
