Integrate Webradio functionality of Hauppauge MVP into Sage

Although Sage doesnot support the 're-streaming' of webradio to MVPs (or placeshifter), the Hauppauge is capable of doing this with its own software.
If you start the MVP service on a PC and have your MVP connect to it, you can listen to webradio without problems.

It's a shame that Sage still isnot capable of doing this, but wouldn't it be possible to use Hauppauge's own service to send the stream to the MVPs?

It's not very practical to have to reset the MVP to switch servers everytime I want to listen to webradio.

I agree, this would be a nice feature. Especially now that my powerline routers muck up my FM reception here...

So If you have the functionality in Hauppauge's own software, it should be too hard to have Sage us this as an engine to stream webradio?

I may be missing something here, but as I understand it's the Hauppauge Service that takes the internet radio signal and sends it to the MVP, it's the Hauppauge MVP software that let's you select and that plays the internet radio signal received from the server on your MVP linked TV set.

You must either run the Hauppauge, either the SageTV service, you can not use both at same time. I do not see how SageTV could use the Hauppauge service engine to deliver internet radio to the MVP (it's to my knowledge not a separate engine). I assume SageTV would need to write this from scratch in their core service, and in their MVP software.

Having sad that, they should. It's the only item I miss from the Hauppauge days, being able to play internet radio via my MVP (for other clients I believe plug-ins exist, but they do not work on MVP).

I know they're 2 different services, but it should be possible for Sage to use the Hauppauge service as an external player or something??

Hey folks - I was also using the Hauppauge MVP units a few years before I discovered SAGE. Love running SAGE on them, but I also miss the Internet Radio passthrough capability (and too much hassle to swap back and forth between SAGE and Hauppauge Software). Hope SAGE incorporates that in a release soon! I know i would enjoy Internet Radio passthrough more then GOOGLE video!

also in agreement. A real sage branded web radio would be nice. Love the customized one, but miss the MVP playback.

Also, the static ip addressing doesn't do good things for me.
