where to set .stv in placeshifter??

Hi-i accidentally set my placeshifter .stv to an .stv instead of an .xml. Now i can't go back without manually editing the string---but where is it stored??? Which properties file? On server or local machine?
thanks
Juc

on the server.

program files/sagetv/sagetv/clients in there you will find some .properties files that you can edit with notepad.

Ok, sorry about that.

Found it, its in sage.properties. And it is per placeshifter user login.

miniclient/jack/stv=C\:\\Progra~1\\SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\SageMC_169-iTV-3.xml

edit: For an easy workaround when you have that problem, take a copy of SageTV3.xml and rename it SageTVreset.stv or something with an .stv extension. YOu can then select it even if you have an older .stv loaded. You can then open .xml files.

edit2: Forgot something, for the placeshifter, you can go Setup>Advanced>Placeshifter Users and set the .stv for each user in there. May have to use the Server or a Client box to do that though.

You can use Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Manage Placeshifter Users to change a Placeshifter user's STV from just about any UI... or at least one where the STV being used is new enough to have that option.

My advice would be to delete *.stv from your system so you don't make that mistake again. There's really no good reason to keep old .stv files around once you've upgraded to XML-format STVs.
