Can't Run SageTV

I just upgraded to the release version from 6.0.17. Everything seemed fine at first. Then it crashed and I have not been able to get past the splash screen. I tried deleting the Sage.Properties file, then I replaced it with one from yesterday, I deleted both the Sage.Properties & the backup files but I still can't get into Sage. I even tried going back to 6.0.17. HELP. I had no problems with either of the last two betas.

Are you running in service mode? If so, did you set a user for it, if needed?

I would try a reinstall of SageTV, in case something didn't get installed properly.

If it continues, you can enable debug logging to find out what the log says is happening.

I did an uninstall, I deleted the Sage directory, I reinstalled, went through the setup and when I got to the screen to setup my video sources SageTV crashed shortly thereafter (before I could select anything). I added the line for logging to the new properties file and attached is one of the log files created. Any ideas?

A second log (hs_err_pid2680.log) that won't upload follows:

Code:
An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) occurred at PC=0x12AE26D

NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for possible
      reason and solutions.

I hope you saved your old wiz.bin... I forgot to mention that earlier when I suggested reinstalling.

I would send the log to SageTV to see what they say about the crash; you can still submit a bug report.

Yes, I have a couple of them (wiz.bin & wiz.bak) along with the properties files. I normally make a copy of the entire directory also, but didnt think that would be necessary for such small changes.

I deleted my sage.properties and wiz.bin files and backups, went through the reconfiguration without a problem when I did not choose the recording directories. Later I tried to add them back and Sage immedieately crashed again. Out of time tonight. Hope this helps.

BTW, no I am not running the service and all of the above has been submitted as a bug report.

Fixed!

I have to give kudos to Sage Support. They not only gave me a fast answer, they gave me a good answer the first time! Turned out to be a .TS file that was wreaking havoc ("crashing the MPEG parser" per Sage Support). This all was a reminder of the importance of keeping your wiz.bin and sage.properties files backed up, just in case.
