organizing videos
I have a follow up to this thread dealing with organizing recordings:
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ead.php?t=6844 I get my EPG data from zap2it. I want to be able to organize my recordings into folders/categories that I create, such as movies, sports, etc; this way, they appear in categories in the SageTV recordings in a much shorter list. I have several movies, I believe the EPG assigns them lots of different categories, like action, drama, etc. Is the organization in Sage based on this, or can you create/consolidate your recordings in any way? Please advise. Thank you. gerberdude |

When the recordings are grouped by category, it uses the category in the recording's detailed info. It doesn't use user-created folders w/recordings assigned to specific folders by the user.
The hidden extras includes malore's 2-pane recording menu w/more grouping options to choose from. When grouped by title, it will put all movies into a separate group. Also, in Detailed Setup -> Advanced, if there is an alternate Movie category name, it will group those separately too. - Andy

Thanks for the help Andy,
Is there a way that I can change the categories in the EPG, or make them work a little harder for me. I would just like a more summarized grouping of files, I don't need to know if it is an "Action/Sci-Fi/Futuristic Reality Show". Just "Action" would suffice for a category. Am I out of luck? For the record, I am using stephaneM's importer. |
