LiveTV Playback Error -2,0x80040207

Hey

Strange thing, i had used the sagetv version 5 for a while (5.1 i think). i tried upgrading to 5.4 and then i couldnt use the livetv option. i got an error "(-2,0x80040207 there was a problem using a SageTV component. please re-install the SageTV application". i did that. it's important to mention that i did NOT uninstall the 5.1 version before installing the 5.4

Anyway, since then, SageTV doesnt work.

I downloaded the new ver today (6), tried it, and still. no matter how many times i uninstall and reinstall the application, nada, zilch. just wont work!

Thank god for sage's support team.
Way to go! the technical support just earned a promoter, not just a happy customer.

anyway, in no time George Oms of the support team replied to my support request. and solved it:
"To run Sage under MCE 2005 you need to disable MCE or a process called
"ehrecvr.exe". To just disable this process go to CONTROL PANEL >
ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS > SERVICES. Look for the "Media Center Receiver
Service" and disable it from starting up. Now restart the computer and go
back in there and make sure that it says it's disabled and not running. You
should be able to use Sage now.
