Removing orphin STV packages

I have upgraded to the current ver 6 of SageTv and also upgraded to the latest MCE STV ver 6.31. I switch back and forth between the default STV and MCE16x9 but have lots of orphin STV's in the menu that I would like to get rid of. Can I just delete the XMl file that is in the Sage STV folder or will this cauls other problems. I am not real sure about any dependencies for the lastes build. I pretty much just wan the latest MC 16x9 and Sage default STV to show up as available so I more easily select the right one. I have accidently pick older stv files that cause me a lot of headaches tryin to get back the the newer xml files.
Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks in advance, Dave

I believe you can (and should) remove any files ending with *.stv. For the xml files, you're ok removing them as long as none of your clients are trying to use them. So go ahead, clean up the orphaned files, and then do your imports on the original SageMC or SageTV xml files.

Make sure you don't remove any of the other xml files not directly related to SageMC or SageTV (mainly SecureLogin.xml) because SageTV uses those internally.
