Sage6 dual input bug
I completely re-installed Sage6 from scratch. I used to be able to use one Hauppauge card as dual-input, the ideas was to use the video sources as below:
Hauppauge card #1: TV tuner (select lower cable 1-90 channels) Hauppauge card #2: TV tuner (select lower cable 1-90 channels) Hauppauge card #2: S-Video (select upper 99-900 channels, tune with USBIRT) This setup worked well for those 1-99 channels that I watched mostly which allowed the internal tuner to change channels quickly. The USBIRT is slow to the box. This setup worked fine in versions 3 to 5. I try to configure this in Sage6 in the order from top to bottom and #2 gets re-written (not added) with the last setting. Now it seems broken. How can I get it configure 2 inputs on one input source card? -Thanks! -G |

I don't know of any reason it shouldn't still work. To have 2 sources configured on the same tuner, you have to use different lineups for the 2 sources and make sure no stations are shared between them. Check all your channels above 99 to see if some are repeat stations for any from 1-90.

i just did this on my v6 while testing all the features out, but i just can't get my hauppauge IR blaster working, but thats another story.
the one thing i noticed when adding the first two sources which use only my regular extened cable sage selects all the channels automatically, but when i add the 3rd source as s-video i tried using the guide for my cable company but not the regular but the digital channels. and i noticed it didnt select any channels from that line up at all. i manually had to go back in and select which channels to add to the line up (i didnt wanna use all 800 or so channels the box uses) so i just picked them out by hand manually and they show up finally in the guide. and no problem changing to that channel thru the guide except my IR blaster doesnt change the channel on the STB

Did this a couple of times where I config'ed the cable tuner to have the lower channels, then re-added a new source using the s-video, de-selected all channels then selected only the remaining upper ones. Went back to the main menu and I only had 2 instead of the 3 sources programmed with the second source replaced using the external s-video. Tried this a few more times in different combinations, no different effect.
It's a V6 sage bug, I think. It was done off a completely clean install. |

Did you check the upper channel numbers to see if any stations from the lower channels numbers were repeated at higher numbers? Try with just a couple channels in the upper range that you are not also on a lower channel number.
Are you using a different lineup for the higher channel numbers? If you are using the same lineup, then changing the channels for one source will affect all sources using that lineup and your source using the shared tuner will be removed. - Andy
