mkv files

Hi all,

I am using sage and in it using the dshow properties, to always show movies with directshow filters.

When biewing a mkv file (H264) in sage it uses the following:

1/1 22:58:56.220 VMR9 alloc 704x304 Offscreen DefaultPool format=? 1/1 22:58:56.296 DShowGraphFilters=Default DirectSound Device,VidRend,ffdshow Audio Decoder,0002,CoreAVC Video Decoder,Haali Media Splitter (AR),\\salon\movies\X-Men_ The Last Stand (2006) (x264)\[?].X-Men.L'affrontement.final.(The.Last.Stand).2006.RETAiL.DVDRip.{x264+HE-

but i want it to add FFDshow into the mix, because I find that some files are too dark, and I can use ffdshow to higlight them

ffdshow is not configured to handle h264, but every thing else, and coreavc handles the h26, together with halli splitter.

In mpc it works, and I do not understand why it does not work here, any thoughts?

Edit
this is using vmr9, when trying Defalt video renderer (which uses vmr7) the ffdshow appears. but 16/9 shows do not fill the screen, and there are strange problems with screen refreshes.
tried with nvidia, intervideo and savetv mpeg, nothing works (but ffdshow video is there)...
cant I have it all???

Not sure if your problem is related to mine, but check out my thread:

EDIT: Upon further inspection, I don't think we are having the same issue. SageTV's dshow player seems to be working fine with MKV containers (calls Haali splitter), but insists on using its own splitter on MOV containers.

I would never waste my time on pirating codec like matroska which is just another container "wrapper" format.
