Sage Issues

Ok, still working on getting this sucker going.

I have all my digital channels in Sage now, but there is a new problem. Some of them have sub-channels and Sage will not tune them in. It only tunes the main channel (-1) and shows the same feed for -2 and -3 even though they are different channels with unique content. This happens on two different ones...

Second, what transcoding option are people using? I can't believe how large the capture files are coming out of Sage. Is there an easy way to have it create DivX or Xvid or even H.264 files instead?

Also I have the "low audio" problem I've seen others report. I downloaded the latest AC3Filter (1.11) but have no idea what options to switch or whatever to improve this?

I'm converting to xvid using the built in transcoding. I created a custom profile that works well for me.

Uncheck "normalize matrix". You may also need to increase the gain or play around with the DRC settings.

Can you please post your custom profile? I've been playing around, but it seems that the default settings, if they work at all, give me much lower quality (smoothness, etc) than I can get with comparable bitrates in autoGK?

Code:
transcoder/formats/Xvid\ Letterboxed\ Cropped\ &\ Deinterlaced\ AVI=f\=avi;MCompressionDetails\=-croptop 64 -cropbottom 64 -cropleft 8 -cropright 8 -deinterlace;[bf\=vid;f\=xvid;br\=1500000;w\=640;h\=480;arn\=4;ard\=3;][bf\=aud;f\=mp3;sr\=48000;ch\=2;br\=96000;]
transcoder/formats/Xvid\ 4x3\ Cropped\ &\ Deinterlaced\ AVI=f\=avi;MCompressionDetails\=-croptop 8 -cropbottom 8 -cropleft 8 -cropright 8 -deinterlace;[bf\=vid;f\=xvid;br\=1900000;w\=640;h\=480;arn\=4;ard\=3;][bf\=aud;f\=mp3;sr\=48000;ch\=2;br\=96000;]
I use these on 4x3 SD analog captures. I have to resize because I haven't found a way to set the aspect ratio when using Xvid. Some shows turn out good while others look bad IMO. I'm sure you'll probably notice I'm cropping the edges of the recordings and the first one actually crops the black bars from letterboxed content.

I've just recently added a HD tuner and haven't tried transcoding any of them. I'll probably create something for them when I get a chance.

I'm not really aiming for perfection. Just something quick and easy to compress shows when I need more space or I know I won't get around to watching the show for several weeks. I'm sure others probably have something much better than what I'm using.
