Wonder how well these work from house to house (if at all). My house has got a single feed from the cable junction in the yard, but it splits when it reaches the house (a main feed for the living room; a smaller junction box for all the rest).

I think, if it is a two way splitter, it should be fine. During the course of this year, you should see more consumer level devices hitting the market.
