Encoders listed.... where?

OK, I must be an idiot but here goes....

So I have 4 encoders in my system, an HDHomeRun (2 encoders) a WinTV-PVR-USB2 and a PVR-150 (network encoder with a DirecTV H20). they all work great , but I'd like to mess with their priority by using encoder_merit. Problem is I can't find the tuners listed anywhere. everyone talks about looking for "mmc/encoders/" in the properties file but I can't find it. it's just not there. we're talking about the Sage.properties file in the SageTV folder right? I've tried doing a content search in the SageTV program folder, but come up with nothing. if the encoders aren't listed there, where else might they be?

thanks!

Yes, it's mmc/encoders/ in Sage.properties (not SageClient.properties) in the SageTV folder on the machine where your capture cards are installed and where SageTV (not SageTVClient) runs. The file is alphabetized so it should be pretty easy to find those entries if they're there.

Of course you must stop any running instance of SageTV (and SageTVService if you use it) before messing with the properties file. Otherwise you might not see any recent property changes that have not yet been saved to disk, plus any changes you make will be overwritten the next time the properies are saved.

If you still can't find it, the only other possibility I can think of is that you somehow have more than one copy of SageTV installed on your machine, in different folders, and you're looking in the wrong one.

That's like second on my list every time I get a new machine, or install windows. First is DISABLE ANIMATIONS, then SHOW HIDDEN FILES, and SHOW EXTENSIONS.
