SageMC 6.31 and calling an external application

Good afternoon,

I must be missing something here. I'm trying to use the dynamic menu "My Menu" in SageMC and customize it to add an item to launch "GameEx".

I right-click on the menu to get the Dynamic Customizable menu to pop up. I then add a "New External Program" and select the EXE file by browsing to it through the GUI, name it GameEx, and save the menu.

Even when re-opening SageTV, the item GameEx shows, but when I click on it, nothing happens.

What am I missing?

Strange, I just tested it with various programs and combinations, and it works fine for me all the time. Can you enable debug logging and post the debug log here ?

Hi Dirk,

Here's yet another strange issue. I attempted to turn on logging, per your instructions, and even modifying both the sage.properties and sageclient.properties after stopping all clients and the server service, it still refuses to pump out a log file. *confused*. Running the latest 6.0.19 release as well.

It doesn't create any files at all ? That's indeed weird. I'm sure you did this, but just to confirm: you typed debug_logging=TRUE (in uppercase), right ?

doh... didn't notice it was case sensitive. Okay, attatching files I've renamed the XML file to .TXT.

Thanks, Dirk!

Thanks, Dirk!
Check if you have a net/sf/sageplugins/sagemenu folder in your SageTV folder (left over from an older installation), if so then delete it and restart the client.
