No Sound Under 6.0.19

Hey, fellows.

I just upgraded to version 6.0.19. Now, there's no sound either when I try to view television from within Sage, or when I view recorded shows in Sage or other media players. I never had this type of problem under version five.

I'm running an Hauppauge PVR-150 and an Audigy 2 ZS. I've checked to make sure no inputs are muted. Any idea what could be causing my problems?

Thanks a bunch!

By default Sage installs AC3 filter. Go into Windows Media Player and to Tools and Options. Choose the DVD tab and then the Advanced button. Either change the settings there or choose to use another decoder from the options in there.

Thanks for your reply, Gerry!

I've found said options in WMP, but what is it that you'd suggest I change? Does Sage use WMP as its player?

Because, Sage just isn't recording shows with sound, nor playing live TV with sound. I've tried changing the audio codec in Sage's options to no effect. What might have changed between 5 and 6 to cause my problem? Should I just attempt to reinstall version 5, at this point?

There's setting in one of the AC3 filter tabs to "Prefer other decoder". Once you set that if you go back in you'll see it using your other decoder. Sage doesn't use WMP but this shows you what your default audio decoder is. The other thing to check is in your control panel you have all sorts of settings for your Audigy card. It's probably one of these. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your PVR150. There were some sound issues with an older set. Do you get sound for music files? Do you get sound from DVDs in other players? What works and what doesn't for you?
