How-to best optimize SageMC for 4:3 and MVP?

Given Dirk's recent optimizations for SageMC's library filters, I would like to put all TVs on SageMC including MVP devices. I am looking for comments on the best way to make SageMC perform quickly with an MVP device on a 4:3 formatted screen. I would also like feedback on which gui settings should be used to make it look great too.

TIA

B

I found that upgrading to Java 6 made my MVP significantly faster and more responsive, that's on a 16:9 screen with the default GUI.

Don't know anything about custom GUI settings though, I haven't been adventurous enough to try anything different yet!

Steve.

Hi B,

I would recomend the following:
  • disable all UI animations
  • disable sounds
  • if Stop dialog too slow, disable it
  • adjust Left Menu Width / Right Pane Width if needed
  • set 4x3 Title correction if needed
  • disable scrolling in RSS ticker
  • disable scaling insets

And yes, I second Steve's advice to use Java 6

Dirk
