Is it possible to export program data from SageTV?
I'm thinking about buying SageTV. Does SageTV have the ability to export data about the recorded programs from SageTV? I want to be able to retain the information about each recorded program for programs that I burn to DVD. I would like to retain the channel number and recording quality. One way that SageTV could do this would be by writing a text file containing the name of each recording file along with each channel number and recording quality. Is something like this possible now? Will this be possible in SageTV 2?

Not in this version. I use XMLTV in combination with my Sage TV service. Since the XMLTV data can be easily searched and extracted I get the best of both worlds, at the price of a little of my time. As for Sage2, from what I've read in the infromation thread it seems like it may be possible. But there is the question of whether this would be a breach of Frey's contract with Zap2it. Maybe Jeff or Dan can answer that part.

justme is correct, we can't allow you to export the program data per our agreement. However, with version 2 you should be able to tag programs manually in SageTV with any data you want saved in a text file for purposes you've stated above.
