GUI crashes "frequently" after upgrade to 6.0.19

This past weekend I upgraded my Sage System from 5.0.4 to 6.0.19 and thus far I'm not terribly happy.

The biggest problem I'm having is that the GUI has simply blinked out of existence 3 times since Saturday morning. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, any fix?

This may be related, but what version of Java is recommended for 6.0.19? Right now I'm using 1.5.0_09 (which worked fine under 5.0.4).

Next, as soon as I upgraded my nVidia filters stopped working. I've switched to the video filter from PowerDVD 7 and am back to using the default Sage audio filter.

The other minor annoyance I'm experiencing is related to the new video preview images in the media library. Is there any way to disable those? I'm interested in getting rid of the ones you see when looking at a folder in particular, I don't mind the individual file previews so much.
