HD Homerun Freeze problem

I just got my HD Homerun today and got it installed (with updates). I am using OTA channels. When I click on a HD channel in SageTV it will play for approximately 5 seconds then freeze. The tuner LED (on Homerun) will go out. The SageTV program itself will not freeze, just the playing of the live show. (I have not tried taping a HD show, yet).

The picture is great until it freezes.

Some of my computer info: Intel(R) Core (TM) 2 CPU, 6300 @ 1.86 ghz, w/ 1.98 gig of Ram.

Windows Task Manager's performance graph shows nothing to indicate a big pull on usage.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Brent

What kind of signal strength does the HDhomerun_gui indicate on these stations? Previously, when I had some stations with marginal signal strength, the picture was freezing on me.

It is very good, I believe- all bars are green except maybe the last three.

I opened the VPC media player and it does the same thing. Sometimes it will play a little longer, but it will eventually freeze the picture. On Sage, after the freeze, it will revert back to the program guide.

I am pretty sure this is more a Homerun issue than a Sage issue. I have posted the same question on its forum.

Thanks,
Brent

I would certainly agree with you, in that VLC crashes as well. I haven't seen this, so you might need help from either someone who has worked with it longer or the folks at silicondust.com

Hope you get it figured out quickly and can start enjoying the product - it's really great.

Smile

Ahhh, I figured out the problem (at least I think I have). I had both the CPU and the homerun plugged into one of my Belkin router ports. When I moved them both to my Linksys switch ports, that did the trick! (So far, anyway).
