Recording Dolby Digital Audio
Pretty soon I'm planning on hooking one of my tuners to my digital cable box. Some of the digital channels sometimes have 5.1 channel DD. I was wondering if it is possible to record this audio instead of the regular 2 channel analog? My SageTV box is setup to pass DD and DTS to my receiver and works great on DVD's. However, I would like to have this functionality on TV playback as well. Just curious if it's at all possible and if it is how difficult?

Yea, I knew that. But I was hoping there was some way to tell SageTV to capture audio from a specific source like the SPDIF input on my sound card rather than use what comes from the tuner card. All that nice surround sound coming from my digital cable would go to waste then. You'd think this would be a good feature to have. More difficult to execute maybe but it shouldn't be impossible.
This should be a wanted feature for the satellite crowd as well.
