Transcoder does not start
I have been trying to get DVDs ripped to the hard drive to playback on the MVP to work with limited success. I have around 100 DVD titles ripped to the hard drive and all playback OK on a Sage client PC but have severe audio sync problems on the MVP. On the MVP the sound is leading the video by several seconds and is broken up. The audio tracks are ac3 (some with DTS) and need to be transcoded for the MVP but when I look on the server the transcoder is not running. I have the latest version of Sage (6.0.19) and two MVPs.
To test if the issue would be corrected by the transcoder I made a test by playing back vob files from the DVDs after making these entries in the client properties file miniclient/transcode_mode=DVDAudioOnly miniclient/transcode_mode_vob=DVDAudioOnly When the vob plays the transcoder is running, the audio is in sync and the load on the server from the transcoder process is low (around 2%). I have searched the forums and tried related settings in the property files but cannot make the transcoder start when a DVD is played. Any suggestions on the correct settings? |

Sent support request
After waiting a couple of days with no replies I guess no one knows how the transcoder gets called (or not called) when a DVD with ac3 sound is played on the MVP. I have referred the issue to Sage support.
