Audio sync inconsistent in HD channels

I was wondering if anybody else has seen the following. I recorded Prison Break on Fox and Heros on NBC in HD. When I play back Prison Break, the audio is in sync. When I play back Heros, the sound is noticably out of sync. If I drop out of Sage and play back either show in WMP, the sound is in sync for both.

For my setup, I have the audio through S/PDIF. Both programs show Dolby D on the receiver when playing back through either Sage or WMP.

Any thoughts on what might be causing the sync problem on NBC programming?

In Sage, I have the following audio/video settings:
- Audio renderer = Default Waveout Device
- MPEG2 audio decoder filter = AC3Filter (latest off web site)
- Video renderer = VMR9
- MPEG2 video decoder filter = Intervideo video decodter

Check your CPU usage, maybe your using different codec/decoder, and is triggering 100% cpu which sometimes it causes audio/video to desync. Plus i think that NBC broadcast at 1080i in some places, while FOX at 720p, that might cause the extra overhead in the heroes show that might be max'ing the cpu

I'll give that a try when I get home tonight. However there was no video stutter (usually first sign the CPU is pegged). I also just upgraded to a P4 3.4 GHz CPU (need to update my sig), so I'm reasonably certain that I've got headroom.

Also noticed the two shows at different resolutions (720p vs 1080i) and at different framerates. FWIW, I've got captures of other program material from different stations at 1080i that has audio in sync.

I might be paranoid, but I wonder if NBC just had a bad day and broadcast the program with bad audio.
