Audio is at a different time than the video

In SageTV the audio is about 2.5 seconds ahead the video. My capture card works fine on the software that came with it. what could be the problem?

PS: also, when I pause or rewind in stv, the sound keeps going.

Since the sound keeps going when you pause the video, it sounds like you are using a software encoder card & the audio input is not configured properly to be included in the recording along with the video.

When going through source setup for that tuner, choose a different Audio Input. I think you can change the Audio Input on the Source Details screen too w/o having to reconfigure the whole source.

If none of the choices there work, then I'm not sure what to suggest. You could list your tuner to see if anyone else has experience with it and/or contact SageTV tech support to see what they suggest.

Okay, I think your idea will work, but I dont know how to change the audio input option. Also, I think it may be more complicated as the tuner card I am using wants me to have the audio coming from its audio port. does this mean that its not sending the audio to the rest of my computer? If so, is there a way to change this?
