Is Sage 6 worth the upgrade?

I'm currently using Sage 5 and very happy with its reliability. I'd like to know in your opinion what are the most valueable new features and improvement in version 6 that made the upgrade worthwhile.

I've read the long list of improvements but nothing impressed me to the point of 'wow I've gotta have that'.
For instance, I've heard that the builtin transcoding is a bit of a letdown. So other than that what in your opinion made the upgrade worthwhile? Am I missing something? BTW, for me worthwhile is more that just its a free upgrade. Worthwhile means is it worth the hassle and the risk that things go wrong? Either way, I'll take a ghost of my HD first.

I'm a big fan of Sage 5's interface and clean unclutter UI. I find the core functionality second to none and the menu layout logical. For that reason I have stuck with stock sage and not moved on to SageMC. For the same reason I'll probably sit tight with Sage 5 unless I'm convinced otherwise.

6.1.3 has much much much faster response on the MVP menus. Worth it to me just for that!!!

I also like the imported videos menu much better than the old one. Although it is something you have to get use to at first.

If all you do is record and watch TV, and it's working reliably, there's nothing in it for you at all. I only upgraded to get an improvement with my stuttering problem (occurs while watching long shows while the show is recording, once the show gets over 1.5 hours). I did get some improvement, but others ended up with a different stuttering issue when they didn't have one before.

But as far as functionality, I can't think of a single feature that Sage added which I use. But FSE does work better on this version (with the prior version it worked with every other beta, but not the final release).

Stutter on playback when recording

Try moving files, once recorded to another drive?

I guess, as you record for longer and longer, the head on your HDD has further and further to move between each read and write. There should be lots of buffers in the way to soak this delay up, but you are recording HD and the 8MB buffer in the drive won't last long! Although you can write a lot faster than the 10 or so Mbit/s of your streams, the seek time must be adding up.

Maybe this is all bull but, hey, it's worth thinking about.

The option that I'd like is aspect ratio correction. You can fiddle it for video playback using the aspect ratio settings but they don't carry over to photos.

Seems a bit of risk to upgrade just for that because it's working pretty well at the minute.

I've considered trying to learn how to use studio to see if I can put a one way stretch feature into the picture viewer.

Once the recording stops, it's fine. What I sometimes do is stop sage service for a second and then restart it. That breaks the recording into two files, and I'm okay then (unless the new segment gets to be really long, which doesn't really happen.
