Software needed

Usueing a usb pvr 2 card with a wireless mvp from hauppauge would like to use (view) on our tv I purchased sage tv media center,placeshifter, and also the extender lic. but still can"t seem to get this working new to this will I need the client software also? hooked up to a direct tv reciever plays fine on main computer but mvp can't find the server

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles; if you'll look through these forums, you'll find a lot of people having troubles with the wireless MVP. Perhaps you can return it for a wired version. Given the number of people reporting problems with this device, Hauppauge should really recall them.

As far as software to use an extender, you only need the SageTV Media Center, and a Placeshifter or Extender license (either will allow you to use the MVP).

thanks sainswor99 finaly got it running about one hour ago it did freeze up after about 20 minutes will have to run a cable wire to it hope that takes care of things

I encountered an issue with my wireless MVP where it would freeze every 20 minutes. I don't recall the exact cause but I solved it by having my DHCP server provide static IP addresses for both Mac addresses used by the Wireless MVP.
