Finally got around to upgrading to Sage v6 and it's much slower.

I upgraded my mobo/cpu from an Athlon 2400+ to a Pentium 641 and at the same time upgraded to Sage v6. Going from a 2400+ to a Pentium 641 should be a significant speed upgrade, however my system is now responding much slower. The GUI sometimes takes several seconds to respond to any commands.

Has anyone else noticed a similar response drop when upgrading? The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is that I'm only using 512mb of ram. However, I never had a problem using that amount of ram with Sage v5.

Aside from the upgrade, what version of Java are you using? I recommend the new Java 1.6, as it greatly increased the response time in Sage for my system.

Wow, thanks for the tip. I went from 1.5.0.5 to 1.6 and it's much more responsive now.
