MP4 ASP and HVC Playback
I have the following problem in SageTV: If I zap between my videos (MP4) back and forth, a image of the previous video shows up and disappears only if I kill all sagetvplayer.exe instances from thexp task manager . There at least 2-3 sagetvplayer.exe are which hangs. The problem emerges only with MP4. With Avi or mpg I can alway switch very fast back and forth. I tried the most current versions out of CoreAVC, FFDshow, Haali and Matroska. The error is definitely because of Sagetv in co-operation with the MP4 splitting, where unnecessary sagetvplayer.exe instances opened, which again a further Zapping prevents. please help . thanks
sorry about this creepy english! |

Hi,
try adding always_use_dshow_player =true to your sage properties file. If English is not your 1'st language then your 'creepy' English is excellent - far better than me trying to speak any other language. Cheers Mark

right now with the latest RC release, Sage is trying to load "AVI splitter" and not Haali simple media splitter (merrit is maxed out)that I have installed, which split the mp4 into video and audio and works outside of sagetv with no problems. I have contacted beta support about this and they're aware of this issue that we are having.
Please submit a bug report and let them know others are having this issue besides me.

running sagetvplayer.exe in batch mode without gui looks like this ...
Playing \\nas\Qdownload\001-Filme\__TESTS\nero\GhostRider_Stan_ASP.mp4. DEBUG - active_file=0 circFileSize=0 ISO: File Type Major Brand: ISO/IEC 14496-1 (MPEG-4 system) v1 Quicktime/MOV file format detected. help
OK, after a lot of hours ... the reason for MP4 PLayback is found.
the movies are on a Network Storage. It seems to be a network performance problem. but occurs - only - with MP4 Files. all other containers like divx, avi, mpg, wmv works fine i am connected with 100 Mbit cable on a 100 MBit Router. copied some MP4 files on a local folder and no trouble! how can i tune this???? |
