Episode Numbers Missing from RT Feed

Anyone noticed that episode numbers have stopped coming through from the RT Feed? They don't seem to be on the RT site either, so I guess it's the data. I like my episode numbers!
Hopefully just a blip...

I've noticed that episode numbers is a random occurrence within the RT data. What is annoying me at the moment is the change in names on programs, like 'The Bill' is no longer called 'The Bill' but now has an episode name included in the title! Though I do appreciate the data feed the RT provides, I wish it was more consistent.

Ron.

The RT data entry clerk in Mumbai has probably never seen 'The Bill'

yes, now you come to mention it. Just as I have sorted my big issues with Sage (installing a 2nd tuner, getting everything sorted with my remote) I start noticing little details. Anyone else noticed that the first-run/re-run data in the RT feed seems a bit hit and miss too ?

First Run/Rerun has gone downhill in the last few months. Episode numbers were always missing for most stuff, but reliable on the 5 main terrestrials. Now seems to have disappeared from them too.

Any favourite I record on say, FX, get recorded again an hour later on FX+.

It the same with other channels too, I've found 4 copies of the same episode of Tru Calling being recorded within a 2 day period.

FX, FX+1 etc. you can help by using the RT grabber's +1 generator instead of the real channel data, then the +1 programs have the same ID. Don't use it myself, I just normally keep favourites channel-specific. Still get a lot of repeat recordings on the same channel though.

RT website was down for a revamp today, now it's a whole mess of JSP errors and dead links. There's a dead "EPG" link, no idea what that is, and it's not serving up any of the XML data...

Eek! I'm seeing the same thing when I manually run the grabbed, the xml dat files are 404. I see you've already posted it on Alan Birtles forum. Will wait and see what happens

Yes, I hope its temporary (maybe it will return improved - who knows ?)

I guess the only other option is to pay for tvtv if its permanent. Anyone know if it supports multiple lineups ?

The "EPG" link I talked about is still there, sitting right next to the "PDA/Mobile" link - the PDA stuff costs £15 per year. I wonder if we're about to see them charging for EPG data? I don't remember ever seeing the EPG link before.

Guess whos scheduled tasks have been failing for the last 13 days and whos only just noticed! So I've got one day of data left!!

If some kind soul sent me the contents of their grabber cache folder, is there anyway of getting the Birtles grabber to run and use just the cache?

Well i wouldn't object to paying £15 a year or so if the service is reliable and the data comprehensive. Given that this thread started with people noticing that the data quality had declined maybe thats what they are pitching ?

I guess Alan would have to re-write his grabber to include the user/passwd

Sorry Mark - my cache dir is empty (despire use cache being ticked) my channel lineup is minimal so you probably wouldn't want it anyway

I dont use cache either but I have a 13Mb download from yesterday. I don't know if this would be of any use to you or not.

If so send me a message and I'll see if I can ftp it up somewhere.

If you use Stephane's importer, you could get it to use the downloaded file, then put the channel numbers in to line up with your normal channels, and import that. It might work, but then again probably not .......

If you don't use his, then I have no idea how to go about it

Maybe I'll set it in future to use cache files, back them up after a download , then delete them. (assuming that it does start working again........)
