A "thank you" thread

Hey guys,

I've been a Sage user for a little while now and while I don't personally have any need for an extender, my parents did. I recommended Sage to them (for a few reasons) but at the end of the day it was the extenders that made them go with Sage.

All I can say is that for my first time ever setting one of the MVP's up, and having it only take (literally) 2 minutes of my time and it was up and running, I say "thank you." You guys not only impressed me, but my parents too.

Cheers!

I'll chime in as well..

I hated tinkering with my fussy, hot and noisy client box. The extender runs in the bedroom dead quiet, took less then a minute to install and configure, and I have the peace of mind of not having to upgrade/tinker/install or otherwise work on it for hours.

Don't have to ask "is the CPU Pegging?", or "Is PureVideo crashing?".

I also got a lovely surprise out of a MVP I purchased from amazon recently that came with the brand new S/PDIF port on the back. Bonus surprises are great

Also, For every extender I buy, I get the internal satisfaction of opening the box and seeing the Hauppauge manual containing details of their god-awful default UI system. They should send sage royalties for saving their product.

Hear hear! I concur 100%

Our SageTV HTPC box in out livingroom works, and works well. And the silent extender in the bedroom works like a charm.

So to regurgitate the thanks, well...thanks!

MVP + Sage is Awesome!

I agree with the posts above. The Media MVP with Sage software is awesome - great picture quality. I've ripped some personally owned DVDs and watching them through Sage and the MVP is identical to my eye as watching them through my DVD player hooked up to my TV though component (not composite) video. And I am anal about picture quality. Any issue with PQ is with the capture.

I have two MVPs. One is a wireless unit but I run them both wired.

I'd also like to say the Sage MC STV rocks. I use Sage MC with ComSkip and ComSkip monitor.

Anyone looking for a PVR should seriously consider Sage + Media MVP. The only issue is the MVP really only does Standard Def. Yes, I know the HD player is coming out...

I suppose if I were to have a complaint it would be that it was too simple to set up. While I wouldn't recommend SageTV to any one that didn't enjoy doing a bit of tweaking, etc., for someone that has a stable Sage server running, the media extender is nothing to set up. It is less difficult than setting up a DVD player.

Oh, a second complaint would be that there isn't an HD version out yet!
