Sage6.1.7.132 Causing Playback Stutter and poor performance

didn't have problem with 5.7 (which I purchased last month) ... but now I have to exit Sage to playback any video on any hard drive of any codec (whether recorded by sagetv or not) or I get a very bad video stutter. what gives?

Task manager shows cpu usage in the 94-97% range with just SAGETV running, even when nothing is playing or recording (and 2% when I exit SageTV).

w2k, WINTV-PVR-350, AMD A64 3800+ 2.4G 939, 2GB Memory, GeForce 7300GT

I am experienicng the same problems with upgrading my client version . Video files which are divx/avi etc stutter so much. Thought it was the drivers, spent 3 hours tonight trying to figure it out. Must be the new version of sagetv??
Lates!
