Problems controlling DEC-3000S with USB UIRT

I'm having problems perfoming the channel change on the DEC-3000S from Sage. Setup and learning of IR codes in SageTV went like a dream, but in use channels are only changed on the DEC for odd-numbered channels (i.e. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). Even-numbered channels are not tuned in at all after UIRT has sent the signal (DEC receives "something" but does not change channel). The blinking on the UIRT does not seem to differ between odd and even number, I've tried re-programming the IR codes several times in SageTV (both all and only the even numbered), I've played around with SageTV settings (number of digits, time between IR codes). Another external unit (DVB-C) works perfect with a similar setup. The UIRT transmits the IR signals via a dual IR-emitter (one for each external tuner) - I've also tried to switch the IR-emitters in case one of them was damaged. None of these actions have actually had any effect at all.

When trying to switch channels using the DEC remote everything works OK, all of the time. I'm lost - can anyone help?

The software in use: SageTV 6.1.8 (older versions had the same issue), SageMC STV 6.3.2c, Girder 3.3.1, UIRT Girder Plugin 2.6.9, UIRT drivers 1.4 (FTDI 3.1.2.0).

Closer to the solution - but how do I configure SageTV to do this?

Read a similar problem:

I can control Sage fine thru the USB-UIRT however trying to use it to control my Bell ExpressVu 3100 receiver it will not transmit the signal properly. ....
Did some more testing on the tuner control after having read this post. Problem above seems to be that the ExpressVu needs multiple key presses for each digit. This is not the case for the DEC-3000S. But - if I (in the test page) keep the remote button pressed for at least a second the channel changes for both even and odd numbered channels.

It seems that in order to change the even numbers the IR signal has to be longer (repeated?). Can't see any way to specify length/repeats in SageTV - anyone that have an idea?

Some progress - but it's time to give up!

After having tested reprogramming the IR codes several times I noticed that I the channels I managed to tune through the UIRT varied. I therefore built a separate .ir file with functioning commands until all numbers (0-9) worked. This could have been perfect - I can now tune into channels 1-10 on the DEC without any problems at all. The downside is that channels 11-n no longer tune at all. Previously this worked to some degree, at least I could tune to some double figure channels even though I probably ended up with the wrong one. Now they don't tune at all - except channel 10.

It's probably a good idea to replace the DEC-3000s with a tuner that SageTV can control via BDA drivers - trying to get it to work with the UIRT seems a total waste of time.
