Blips and Pops in the Sound?

Running latest version of Sage, latest version of AC3Filter, latest version of Java. I never noticed this in prior versions of Sage, but every so often at random times the sound will have pops/clicks every 10-30 or so seconds. They are minor little blips. I'm using SPDIF out straight to my receiver.

AC3Filter is setup to passthrough the SPDIF signal with no processing. Sage is setup to use DefaultDirectSoundDevice with AC3Filter. I'm using the Chaintech-AV710 soundcard. I'm using the HDHomerun.

I can play the same stuff in VLC fine. This only occurs with Sage.

this is a hit-miss item that i think has been open with the MVPs since before 6.0. I haven't yet heard it on mine since the last release, but that doesn't mean they squashed the "feature."

I should add that recorded content plays back fine with no blips or pops in the sound. What the heck gives....all I'm doing is passing the raw AC3 stream to my decoder via SPDIF. How can SAGE screw that up ?

I'm getting the same thing. 6.1.8 caused all sorts of problems for me. I never had pops or clicks in any previous release. 6.1.8 is also really slow and won't even start some videos.

I managed to fix the popping and blips by using Nvidia's Audio Decoder. Also I switched the hardware device from DirectSound:Envy24 to Envy24.

I'm having the same problem. I use SPDIF to my reciever as well, latest sage version, latest java version, and I was already using the Nvidia decoders (Audo and Video), but it still happens for me. My video playback also freezes while the audio keeps going with the weird sounds. Mine, however started with the beta version 6.1.3. Any new info on this problem?
