STV update for Google videos in v6.1.8

Attached is an updated SageTV3.xml STV (v6.1.8.1; April 12, 2007), for use with the current release version of SageTV (v6.1.8).

Some of the Google video lists now contain links to YouTube videos. This STV has been updated to handle those YouTube video links within Google video search results.

This is the only change in the STV.

Note: To use this STV update, copy it to the <install dir>\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\ directory, replacing the existing SageTV3.xml file.

I tried loading and using this STV and had issues on my Media Extenders with the overlay. None of the menus - including the new logo screen - would go away. They kept staking on top of each other.

I'm using the new SageTV 6.1.8 with no modifications or customizations.

Did I load this incorrectly or something?

Where did you place the XML file? It needs to go in the <install dir>\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\ directory -- same place the original SageTV3.xml file is located. (I'll add that note above.)

If you put the XML file in the proper place, do you have the hidden extras turned on? If so, if may be trying to use the ui/background_image property for the background image file & maybe it points to an invalid file. The easiest way to fix that might be to go to Detailed Setup -> Customize -> Set Background Image (scroll all the way down the right hand side to see that option).

After I installed this new STV I tried google videos. Worked fine. Then I tried stopping, and sagetv started circling. So I killed the process. After I restarted sagetv started tuning to some random channel and I can't stop live tv anymore. If I stop it restarts again. Even reverting to old xml file doesn't fix the problem.

Any help?

Were you using SageTV v6.1.8?

You could enable debug logging so you get a log when you try it again, then report what happened to tech support.

Killing the SageTV process may have corrupted your properties file -- close SageTV completely, then copy the properties file and its autobackup to some other dir. When you restart SageTV, you will have to reconfigure everything. If killing the process corrupted wiz.bin, that could cause problems too & you would need a backup copy to restore it.
